The Altoona Area Junior High School opened for the first time on August 26 for the 2008-2009 academic year. AAJHS is the first K-12 school in the area to operate on a building-wide wireless network by industry leader Meru Networks. Students and staff can walk anywhere in the facility and always stay connected. Over 4 dozen Bosch cameras keep an eye on the new school and its occupants. The Altoona Area Junior High School is definitely an example for other school districts in the region to follow.
